First Generation (1985-Present)

The Ford Taurus model was slightly redesigned in 2007 and it was first shown at Chicago Auto Show in 2007. The successor model to the Taurus is Ford Fusion. It is offered in three trim versions, the base model SE, mid-level SEL and high performance Limited. The starting price of the model is around $25,595.

The initial Ford Taurus model was offered as sedan body form. The interior region of the model is completely changed. More than 1,400,000 vehicles were sold during 1992-2002.

The current generation Ford Taurus was unveiled in 2009 at Detroit International Auto Show. The high performance model was also released in the same year, Taurus SHO.

The sports version scored good results in the overall tests conducted to the model. Some of the safety features equipped in the model include adaptive cruise control, all wheel drive, collision warning, cross traffic alert and blind spot monitoring system.

2009 Ford Taurus

The standard engine to the sports version, Taurus SHO include a 3.5 liter Ecoboost V6 version that delivers power up to 365 hp and torque of 350 lb ft. The standard features in the model include power sunroof, navigation system, heated seats, auto sensing lights, and electronic stability control.
